Fauna & Flora
The terrestrial fauna of the land consists of a large variety of birds - Among them, Humming birds, "Sugar Boxes" with their yellow belly, Cattle Hegrets in the tropical forest, the black woodpecker and along the sea-side "pelecanus occidentalis", frigate birds, brown gannets and gulls. You'll also come across butterflies, crabs, lizards and iguans as well as thousands of frogs and toads which giving their concert at dusk.

The Aquatic Fauna of the West Indies is one of the most spectacular in the world, particularly in Guadeloupe around the protected site of the "pigeon islets" with a mask and snorkel, you can admire a large variety of multicolored fish swimming around superb coral-reefs.

The Guadeloupean Flora is as varied as spectacular, thanks to a fertile & vulcanic soil, the diversity of the relief and an afflence of sun and rain. Most plants and fruits were imported all trough centuries. Papayas and coconuts from India, litchis from China, Guavas and avocados from Brazil, Mango trees from La Reunion, the "bread tree ", the "filalo" and the "flamboyant" from Madagascar. Pine-apple trees, banana trees, orange trees, lemon trees, royal-palm trees and the "traveler tree" complete this picture of "garden of Eden".
